Here Goes Something
In January of 2007, I started my first blog, appropriately titled "Brett's Blog." I didn't know what I wanted my subject matter to focus on, but I did know I wanted to jump into the great world of blogging, so I did, with the disclaimer that I really didn't know where the thing was going. Brett's Blog started with a smattering of posts on politics, faith, sports and sheer observations, but it quickly merged into a blog about marketing and communications in today's small business world. In other words, I dropped all the other stuff, and dedicated Brett's Blog to nothing but marketing. Which I've enjoyed immensely, and it's been quite a rewarding decision.
That's not what VintageBrett.com is all about.
With this new blog, I intend to nix the business talk and dive into all the other chit-chat that one must have to stay balanced. I've needed this outlet. I can't promise any consistency at all in terms of topics, but I can promise entertaining words and phrases written with a smirk. I think this will be fun.
For those of you who have kept up with Brett's Blog over the past year and a half, here are some noteworthy morsels:
- I've launched VintageBrett.com in TypePad, not WordPress. I'm completely happy with WordPress, but I simply wanted to try another blogging platform. That's all.
- Yes, I'll be allowing sponsored links by Google to be posted into my content. No, I don't think I'll get rich doing it, but I am curious about it, so I'm going to use it. I definitely won't overdo it, though - nothing worse than an ad-heavy blog.
- The first few posts will be lifts from Brett's Blog that fit the bill, so don't be surprised if things look a little familiar at first.
- I'm looking forward to a little more interaction on this site, simply because I think the topics might be a bit more inclusive of more people.
So, without further adieu, I say enjoy. Got tips? Feel free to give them, but I'm likely to ignore them.

Howdy! I had multiple blogs at one time, but decided I enjoyed the personal one best so now I just have the one. I put it all there, it all comes from me anyway...
