I read this passage this morning:
These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
- Matthew 15:8-9 (I know, it’s actually a reference to Isaiah)
This whole passage is pretty entertaining. The Pharisees have tried
to confront Jesus with why his disciples don’t wash their hands before
they eat, citing a “tradition” that was not even part of the law given
by Moses. So Jesus answered a question with a question, and then this

In January of 2007, I started my first blog, appropriately titled "Brett's Blog." I didn't know what I wanted my subject matter to focus on, but I did know I wanted to jump into the great world of blogging, so I did, with the disclaimer that I really didn't know where the thing was going. Brett's Blog started with a smattering of posts on politics, faith, sports and sheer observations, but it quickly merged into a blog about marketing and communications in today's small business world. In other words, I dropped all the other stuff, and dedicated Brett's Blog to nothing but marketing. Which I've enjoyed immensely, and it's been quite a rewarding decision.
That's not what VintageBrett.com is all about.
